Hi everyone. Its been a while since I last blogged and there are many reasons for that but I’ll spare you the details for now. I pray that my experiences over the last couple of months will be a blessing to you guys as they inspire my upcoming blog posts.
One of the most important things that happened to me over these past few months is that I proposed to the very special lady in my life and thankfully she said yes! That’s right! This young man is betrothed to the love of his life. Hopefully my life has spoken volumes to my fiancée over the years but I still felt the need to seal the deal by putting a ring on her finger as a symbol of my unbroken loyalty and pledge to marry her.
That was a beautiful and memorable experience for us both. I will never forget the day I officially became engaged. If I feel the way I do towards my fiancée, can you imagine how Christ feels towards His beloved? Wow! The day you said yes to Jesus will forever be etched in His heart. You are forever His beloved. Your love and devotion are sweet fragrances that ravish His heart.
The day you said yes to Him was the day you decided to be His Bride forever. Scripture tells us there was a celebration in Heaven just because you chose to accept and return His love.
The day you immersed yourself in a pool of water to be baptised in His name was the day you put on a ring of some sort to symbolise to the physical and spiritual world that you’re taken by the Lord Jesus Christ. Did you know that in parts of the middle east, persecution against believers is not activated by reading the bible or preaching the gospel. Rather what sparks off the hate and venom is the decision to become baptised by immersion. It symbolises so much about our faith that even unbelievers have a vague understanding of its importance.
Beloved you are engaged to the Man Jesus and that should excite your hearts and minds. I say this because in my flawed case, having a fiancée has enlarged my capacity to sacrifice for her, provide and protect her. What is mine is hers in my reckoning. I feel like I will never go through life alone again. How much more secure are we to be engaged to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He has promised never to leave you or forsake you. He says that no one can snatch His beloved out of His hands. His capacity to sacrifice for you is unparalleled as evidenced by the cross. His ability to provide for you is unmatched and that’s why Paul wrote that He will supply all your needs. His power to protect is unquestioned. You’re talking about the One who causes the kingdom of darkness to shudder in terror at the mere mention of His name. His companionship is incomparable. He walks with you through thick and thin, strengthening and comforting you through His Holy Spirit.
Who wouldn’t want to be engaged to such a Man? The wedding of all weddings will one day be conducted in the heavenlies. Christ will finally marry His Bride at the marriage supper of the Lamb. What a beautiful and grand occasion that would be. Everyone who said yes to Him and lived for Him will get an invite. If you haven’t said yes to Jesus and made a real decision to live for Him then I urge you to do so because I want to worship and dine with you at the marriage supper of the Lamb. The alternative is unthinkable so please make a decision while you still can.
The Bridegroom King is waiting to receive you with open arms. He loved you even before you were born. He was slain from the foundations of the world just so He would have the opportunity to love you. If you hear Him knocking on the door of your heart today then please don’t ignore His call by hardening your heart. You will never make a better decision in your life than to say yes to Jesus.
I’ve been engaged to Him for five years and He has transformed my life in that time. I came to Him full of pride and worldliness. He cleansed and purified me and made me into a vessel fit for His use. No One ever gave me a chance like Christ did. He will set you free if you open up your heart and let Him in.
