Back from the dead!: A riveting testimony

On Sunday, I was stunned as I listened to what had to be the most incredible testimony with a direct connection to me. This was a testimony of God’s awesome love and power. This was a testimony that threw more light on how our faith pleases God.

The testimony centers around a three-year old boy, who’s a really close family friend’s son. He’s practically a nephew to me. Let’s call him Lazarus out of respect for his family. I heard the testimony from my father, who is Lazarus’s granddad’s closest friend and Lazarus’s uncle.

On that fateful Sunday, Lazarus went to church in the company of his mother and siblings. Keeping an eye on young boys can be a challenge sometimes. Lazarus being a young, happy, and inquisitive three-year old wandered off from the watchful eye of his mother. 9.9 times out of 10, there would not normally be any problems with that as the wandering child would usually end up being ushered back to their parents if they don’t run back there themselves. Not that day.

Lazarus’ inquisitive mind must have drawn his attention to a rather strange-looking object called a transformer. In Nigeria, due to our electricity problems, these are scattered around the place in order to convert the electrical currents to what the surrounding homes or buildings need, which is alternating current. These could be lethal if not handled with care.

In his innocence, young Lazarus, overcome with his curiosity, touched what must have been a section of the transformer that exposed people to a potentially devastating electrical shock. According to eye witnesses, the electrical currents were so powerful that Lazarus was lifted up and suspended against an object located some distance from the ground!

Apparently, there was a prayer meeting taking place in the church building. The last prayer point that was made corporately was something along the lines of: “may no one present here today lose any loved ones to death”. Unknown to them, that prayer point was about to be severely tested.

Pandemonium ensued as soon as people began sounding the alarm that something horrible had happened to a little boy outside. Everyone ran out to see what was happening. His mother, seeing what looked like her son’s lifeless body suspended in the air, operating in what most can only describe as a supernatural gift of faith at that moment in time, expressly refused to accept that her child had died.

A man with a huge stick was able to dislodge Lazarus from the object and he dropped down to the ground like a lifeless object. His skin was described as being pale and extremely dry at this point. People were hysterical and pronouncements of death were being made all over the place but his mother refused to accept this fact. She looked at the One called Truth and called on Him with everything in her to save her son.

A number of pastors surrounded young Lazarus’ unmoving body. He just lay there not breathing. Everyone began praying to God to spare the young boy’s life. People began declaring life into the situation and declaring the truth of God’s word over the lifeless body. He just lay there lifeless.

He was dead. Clinically speaking, Lazarus was gone. His heart had stopped and his breathing ceased for a whopping 30 minutes. Satan must have thought he had succeeded in killing, stealing and destroying once more. If this could happen in church, what would happen to the faith of the other believers there. He must have been chuckling away and patting his demons on the back. However, God had a different agenda for Lazarus. His destiny was not going to be cut short. What the enemy intended for bad was about to be turned around for a great good.

On the 31st minute, Lazarus sneezed! His heartbeat and breathing followed and soon enough he was wide awake and alive! Praise be to our awesome God. Lazarus was taken to hospital for monitoring. I spoke to his uncle last night and he said Lazarus is doing just fine. He only suffered very minimal blood loss. His entirely family have been awakened to a fresh revelation of God’s character through this ordeal.

I don’t know about you but this testimony truly impacted me from the inside out. I’ve heard about people resurrecting from the dead but I’ve never had it so close to home. If the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy then I pray that this testimony will quicken our faith as we remember that God can bring life into any situation no matter how dead it may seem.

Hi Natalie! I remember that story from kings. You’re right, he did sneeze as well. Interesting how God is the same today, yesterday and forever. I pray that the circumstances facing your loved one will experience a dramatic turnaround for the better in Jesus name.

Hi Watchman, a wonderful confirmation of God’s Power, Mercy and Love and we have no doubt it happened, being physically dead is not the same as being eternally separated from the body which is real death, it as if they sleep and some dream but we remember it is God alone who gives life even to dry bones. The Scriptures tell us clearly in Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

We can know by this Scripture that there is indeed no Reincarnation but as we can see with Lazarus, Jairus’ daughter ( see below ) and your Lazarus etc there is a time of passing over into eternity and it is well documented, some of course are not genuine but you can discern this by what they say and do, meaning what their focus is.

Luke 8:52 -55 And all wept, and bewailed her: but He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed Him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And He put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and He commanded to give her meat.

God bless this family greatly and their Church Family, thank you for sharing Watchman.

Christian Love from us both – Anne.
