For those of you who have confessed to prefer reading than watching video clips, I have a treat for you! A dear sister in Christ sent me this ebook about a couple of weeks ago. The contents are so simple but the delivery and consequent impact it has had on my life in such a short time has been nothing short of remarkable. I had no choice but to share with you guys. Now I know that some people have reservations about Kenneth Hagin and his teachings but I read through this ebook with the filter of the Holy Spirit on my heart and I found no reason to deny you being blessed by this work. This book has really helped me to understand the practicalities of walking with the Spirit of God and I’m sure you will be blessed by it.

Thank you so much, Chidi. I’m downloading it now and looking forward to reading it. God bless!
You’re welcome Natalie! Enjoy it
Hi Watchman, I’m sorry but I do not download anything unless I know what it is about, in this case Kenneth Hagin, being Australian may be the reason I have not heard of him before or not having been a member of a Pentecostal Church, although I am aware of some of their teaching. Why do people have reservations about Kenneth Hagin and his teachings ? and how have you tested his spirit, which is what we must do with everyone who seeks to teach us.
Having ministered to XCult members and being involved with refuting the teachings of Cults, what their teaches, do is mix Truth with lies or add to Scripture, or take away from it as well as twisting it’s meaning or ignoring it and just teaching instead their own agenda based on fleshy understanding.
I would really appreciate it Watchman if you could list a few things that people reject in reference to this man’s teaching.
Christian Love Anne.
Hi Anne. I don’t blame you at all for being guarded about what you read. I’m certainly an advocate for being careful about what influences my faith and I also extend that watchfulness to what I share on the blog although I have missed it a few times and will probably still do so in future. My prayer is that over time, as my discernment sharpens, I’ll be better able to filter out those erroneous teachings that will only deceive and pull me away from the truth. That being said, I give people a chance and allow the inner witness of the Holy Spirit combined with the Scriptures to have the final say with any teaching on offer. I used to be of the school of thought that once a teacher made an error, I had to right him off completely. I did that until I realised that I myself, with all my best intentions, still didn’t have perfect teaching or understanding. Also, there have been teachers who blessed me tremendously but occasionally, they may say something in a message that my spirit will refuse to receive no matter how titillating it sounds. Love believes all things and hopes all things. With respect to Kenneth Hagin, I think it’s best you research on him Anne. A simple google search on practically any remotely influential pastor or teacher will always yield information, both true and false. Because I don’t want to be a part of any slandering, I’d prefer not to list out the negative things people have to say about Kenneth Hagin. I put up the link because I read the book and found absolutely no reason to question his doctrine. His books have actually been a blessing to me in the short time I became acquainted with his work. He is popularly referred to as the father of the ‘word of faith’ movement, also known as ‘name it and claim it’. However, on his deathbed, it was said that one of his biggest regrets was how people took his teachings on faith and twisted it to suit themselves.
Hi Watchman, I don’t depend on what I know but on what our only Teacher Jesus Christ teaches me and He reveals Truth not error, like you when I read something that is in error I have a warning in my spirit, this tells me I need to walk carefully . God’s Love is not Blind and only accepts all things that are good and are Truth , anything that contradicts God’s inspired word is to be rejected …does The Holy Spirit teach error ?
No I don’t reject anyone as a person of worth, it is not for me to judge this, only God knows a persons eternal destiny, they may come to heart repentance on their deathbed, we are to Love even our enemies and pray for them but I don’t accept their error or dismiss it, I will try to correct and warn them by sharing God’s Truth but if they continue to teach error and reject the Scriptures, trusting in their own fleshy wisdom, knowledge, logic and reasoning or others, then I do not take anything they share to heart and if needed I walk away or as the Scriptures tell us to do, I shake the dust off my sandals.
Christian Love Anne.
Thanks for sharing Anne. It’s certainly important to tread carefully in these times and not be blown about by every wind of doctrine. God’s word can never contradict itself and neither can His Spirit contradict His word as you rightly pointed out. He is our best Source of understanding the Scriptures. The ultimate Teacher there is. Jesus gave gifts to His Church and amongst them are teachers. I have been blessed by some like Derek Prince and hope to continue enjoying the gifts in such teachers. But nothing can replace the need for us to study the word and allow the Holy Spirit minister to us as individuals. That is absolutely non negotiable in my little experience as a Christian. A teachable spirit is also just as important I feel.
I’m sorry Watchman that it has taken me so long to get back to you but I was shopping and having lunch with Ron, he is back from his holiday with his brother, we had some catching up to do and I also had a few comments to respond to as well.
You are very right we need to have a teachable spirit, we are to listen to Jesus in quietness and submission, meaning, without arguing and with Trust that what He tells us is True and yes He has used the foolishness of Preaching and He does give us gifts to build up His body but He asks us to listen to Him first not others and when we do we will know the Truth and so we can agree or correct those we listen to. If they are teaching God’s Truth then we can be encouraged in our faith but if they are teaching error, it can cause us harm if we accept what they teach as Truth we must always seek the conformation of Scripture with the enlightment of The Holy Spirit..
To know the Truth, Jesus said we have to know Him in our heart not just our head…John 5:39-40 & 1Corinthians 2: 2-3 & 9-16
1John 2:26-28 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is Truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.
Colossians 2 :2 -3 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in Love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
1John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is True, and we are in Him that is True, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the True God, and eternal life.
John 15:14-15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.(KJV)
Matthew 10:26-28 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops (KJV)
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go.
I will guide you with Mine eye.

Hi Anne! No worries with regards the reply. Sometimes we just have to do life. Hope you enjoyed your shopping. We’re on the same page in the sense that we both acknowledge the pre-eminent role the Holy Spirit plays in teaching us individually. I guess where we have differing views is in the area of seeing God-ordained teachers as gifts to the Body. There’s nothing wrong in us seeing it from different angles. What our discussion does is remind me of the role the Holy Spirit plays in my life as my Teacher. It also helps me see that God can also reach me through genuinely anointed teachers. It doesn’t take away His role as my Teacher but it does give me other avenues to learn from His Spirit in others. If the bible warns of false teachers then it’s because there are also good teachers who are essentially vessels or channels of what the Holy Spirit has illuminated to them. The key is to accurately discern which side of the divide they belong to. Thanks again Anne. It’s always a blessing to discuss with you.
Respectfully Watchman, I would still rather listen to what Jesus teaches me, which He tells us very clearly this is what we are to do………..
1John 2:26-28 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. We also remember Watchman, we are of the household of God, the children of the promise, we are God’s people, Spiritual Israelites not of circumcision of the flesh, the Old Covenant but of the heart, the New Covent in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 8 :10-11 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, – Ephesians 4:11.
And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. – 1 Corinthians 12:28
God teaches us directly from His Spirit but also from others. It keeps us from becoming puffed up with pride in my personal experience Anne. I’ve learnt a lot from you but if I were to follow your approach, then I would have missed out from being blessed by the Lord from a fellow believer. I disagree respectfully Anne. The scriptures are my source of reference on this.
I’ve been too blessed by anointed teachers to deny the impact they’ve had on my life when scripture clearly tells me that Jesus Himself gave us teachers as a gift to His body. Learning from them does not mean I’m not learning from Him because they teach us what His Spirit has revealed to them. The best form of learning will always be the direct revelation but God has other avenues of teaching His children.
We must each admit that there is always the capacity to get it wrong no matter how good our intentions might be. Sometimes it takes another believer to point that out Anne.
Philippians 2:3 says Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
The office of the teacher is supported in scripture. If God gave us a gift then we would be wise to take advantage of it. Nobody has all the revelation. We can always learn from others. That’s my approach, trusting that the inward witness of the Spirit combined with the scriptures will act as the filter I need to stay away from deception. The Spirit will always have the final say for me but that does not mean I cannot learn from teachers who are a gift to the body of Christ. Thanks Anne.
Hi Watchman, it seems you have missed a few of my statements in my comments about valuing others gifting but regardless of what we gain from others when they teach it does not change what Jesus tells us to do and that is to Trust in Him first to teach us His Truth.
I have listened to a great deal of error in the last 30 years by those who are in a Teaching position both male and female, some of which I believed and taught others until Jesus showed me they were in error, this is why we need to know God’s Truth first for ourselves.
As I said to you before Watchman, I do appreciate those who share and expand on Scripture when it is the Truth and I have benefited by increased knowledge and insight through their teaching but I always do as the Bereans did and that is check they are not in error and we can do this when we have asked for and received God’s wisdom which everyone can have but must not doubt they have it and with Jesus’ confirmation and also the Scriptures, error is very apparent as is the Truth they share.
Do I consider others better then me, which is in reference to being willing to serve them, yes I do but Jesus is our Authority and they do not rate higher then Him regardless of what they Teach. Also when the Scriptures refer to being puffed up with pride, it is in relation to worldly wisdom not sharing God’s Truth but sadly at times Christians will major on Supernatural experiences, Paul talked about this and needing a thorn from Satan to keep him from fleshy pride, not that it is wrong to share these experiences but if we think it makes us better then others, we are very wrong, no one deserves God’s Love, Mercy and Miraculous intervention in their lives or His gifting, and believe me I more then most people could never promote myself above others, I deserve nothing but punishment for the great wrongs I have done but I’m constantly grateful for God’s forgiveness and the free gift of Salvation in Jesus Christ and for the gifting He has given me and others and as He tells us we must let our light shine and not loose our saltiness .
1John 2:26-28 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and *** ye need not that any man teach you *** but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is Truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go.
I will guide you with Mine eye.
Christian Love Anne.
Thank you Anne. Based on your last response, I have no disagreements with you. As I said in an earlier statement, we both identified Jesus as being our preferred Teacher. We also both identified the importance of always checking what we’re being taught against the scriptures and the inward Witness. We also both identified that we can learn from others albeit with a lot of care and attention. So really, except I’m missing something, I think our discussion has reached its fullness. I’ve learnt from it as I always do. Thanks again Anne.
Watchman in regards to you last comment… I think our discussion has reached its fullness…very True but there is one thing that still needs to be said and that is I wish I could give you a great big Granny Annie Hug…. ((( HUG))) your a special young man with a good Godly Character and we are very blessed to know you, now don’t blush
it’s True.
Christian Love from us both.
Awwwwwwww!!! You’ve left me with little or no choice but to blush! That great big Granny Annie Hug just melted everything away. You see I keep learning from you guys all the time. You have no idea how much I learn from you Anne. It has truly been a blessing to know you and Ron. Thanks so much for your kind words Anne. You are a woman of virtue and your stance when it comes to the truth is exemplary. God bless you both
I agree Mate!
blessings
Ron
Hi Watchman you do indeed make us feel wanted, thank you, no doubt you have heard this Scripture before…
1 Corinthians 1:26-28 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
This is me, I’m a cracked Vessel but God is the Super Glue, I share what He puts in my heart including the Scripture, I learn also as I share, my ability to write is very limited with being Dyslectic, and I have had no formal training, this is why I share other peoples encouraging and uplifting messages that have touched my heart over the years, yes I often add a footnote and at times I write in the Spirit complete messages and stories, this is the same with my Poetry and Power Points. When I comment on yours and other peoples Blogs it is much the same but my own weaknesses and personality will also present themselves at times, as I said I’m a cracked vessel aiming for God’s perfection in Christ Jesus.
I’m pleased Watchman you enjoyed the hug, that was from my heart, Ron is more laid back, so I will give you a hug from him (( hug )) he really is not as demonstrative as I am… your not blushing again are you ?
Christian Love from us both – Ron and Anne
Hi Anne. Thanks for sharing that scripture. It’s so apt to us all. We are all indeed cracked vessels as you rightly pointed out. Someone once said that if the vessels weren’t cracked, the light of Christ will stay trapped within. It’s in your weakness that His strength is made manifest. We all have them but thank God for His grace. He is moulding you and I each day, transforming us into the image and likeness of His Son.
lol…I’m trying not to blush a second time but it’s so hard! Say a big thank you to Ron for his second-hand hug from you! Thanks Anne
Awwwwwwww!!! now we are blushing
you say the nicest things Watchman, makes us shine so much we need sunnies to look at each other
blessings
Ron and Anne.
You both deserve it and more Anne! God bless you both.
thank you for making this available.
