…about the baby who was born in Nigeria earlier this month, clutching a Quran in its right hand!
This has caused such a stir especially amongst the Muslim community in Lagos state, where I live.
A young woman who became pregnant out of wedlock was abandoned by her lover. Scared of what the outlook would be for her future, she resorted to aborting the child and that’s when all the drama began.
This is like something right out of a movie. Everyone is perplexed by this rather unusual occurrence. Perhaps the most perplexed of all is the baby’s mother. Her words: “I repeatedly tried to abort the baby, but, instead, the baby kept getting stronger by the day, which made me to give up on abortion. Then I started wearing a cross around my waist to protect the baby and myself but the cross kept cutting. When the pregnancy got to its eleventh month, I told my friend, Kenny Ogunlana, about it and she now took me to Morning Star Church (Cherubim & Seraphim) in Ejigbo where I was delivered of the baby.”
Note that she said she was ‘delivered of the baby’ and not that she delivered the baby.
Another very perplexed individual in all this is the very experienced Christian midwife called Victoria, who delivered the baby. She said: “I tell you, it was God who delivered that baby. I’ve seen cases where babies come into the world, holding ropes, but nothing like this! I used to help mothers deliver babies. I’ve delivered a lot, but I’ve never seen anything like this. When the mother of the woman came, I showed her the item I found in the right hand of the baby.” Victoria narrated that one of the mysterious things was that electricity company supplied power just as the baby’s head appeared and interrupted it after she had cleaned up the baby, stressing that it was a symbol that the baby is unique.
Apparently the Quran is also growing as the baby grows in size. Muslim scholars also claim that this is not the first of such incidents to occur in the Islamic world. An Imam said that when he was informed of the Quran, he conducted a research and found out that, in the world, such Quran is to be five. But there are two already in existence, adding, “And where the volume of the first one ended was where the second one started from, they come in volumes. But what I cannot say is how the thing (Quran) got into the hand of the baby.”
The dramatic birth has had serious ramifications for those affected. For one, the entire family of the baby’s mother are now seriously considering abandoning Christianity for Islam. In addition, some religious scholars are taking this as another opportunity to promote the clearly unscriptural act of merging Christianity and Islam in the name of tolerance. These are two radically different faiths. Radically different.
An Imam of Ramatu Ishamiya Mosque in Ijeshatedo, Lagos, Alhaji Ashimuyu Omotosho, who was invited to look at the Quran found in the baby’s right hand, said it was the mark of God, adding: ” The amazing thing was that the family of Kikelomo is Christian. It shows that we are one from God, but came into the world to choose and go our separate ways”.
People are already idolising the baby and undoubtedly, those who are not firmly rooted in Christ are already considering a switch because of this ‘miracle’. It reminds me of the great apostasy (falling away from the faith) that Paul warned about. There will be miraculous signs and deceptive teachings that will be so strong it would take a deeply rooted faith not to be attracted. I already heard mature Christians saying that perhaps what this means is that God is telling us to unify and become one faith with Islam! How can this be?
We worship the Almighty Yahweh whose Son is Jesus. Muslims worship a different god called Allah, who relegates Jesus’ position to that of a mere prophet. No! Chrislam must never become a reality otherwise countless souls will be heading to eternal damnation. The only way to salvation is to accept the finished work of Christ on the cross, the very same cross that the Quaran says was an illusion designed to deceive Christians.
I won’t deny that seeing a newborn baby clutching a golden Quran on live tv with all the witnesses being Christians and looking in awe and reverence caused me to pause for a second. Before there was anytime to sow and deceptive seeds in my mind, the Holy Spirit flooded my mind with the truth of scripture. Darkness cannot comprehend the light that the entrance of His Word brings. Scripture already predicts such abnormal or supernatural occurences. Satan also dresses himself up as an angel of light so one needs to prayerfully discern the spirits.
This is only the beginning of the end times. There’s so much more deception coming and this is why it is imperative that we soak ourselves with the truth of God’s Word whilst that opportunity is freely available because it may not always remain that way. What gives me joy though is that the bible also speaks of a great harvest of souls that will come. It’s almost like a filtering of the Church or a purification of the Bride. Those with itchy ears and questionable commitment to Christ will probably get drawn away by things like ‘miracle babies’ and other supernatural phenomena. Consequently, those who will hear the truth of the gospel, believe in Christ by faith and stay deeply anchored in Him through an intimate acquaintance with His Word will have a much better chance of staying true to Christ till the very end.
When an entire family generation of Christians can readily throw their faith in the bin because of the golden quaran then one must question how deeply rooted they were in the first place. Satan is an extremely clever being. He knows just what makes people tick. We as Nigerian are enthralled with the supernatural and in this situation we have a real show in front of us. The fact that this birth occurred in a church also speaks volumes. Thousands of people surrounded the premises where the baby is being kept. The clerics are already warning against idol worship of this child but I doubt many will heed that caution. It is bound to happen in a country where people are starved of hope and the Church that is meant to be that beacon of hope in Christ is fast asleep. We need to wake up and smell the coffee. The warfare is being stepped up in the spiritual and the Church is still busy being distracted with self and messages that soothe itchy ears. It makes me fume with righteous indignation.
The enemy of truth is not a lie. The real enemy of truth is a half-truth because it is much more easy to swallow these than it is to believe a lie. The fact that Islam gives Jesus a place of prominence in its faith is enough to deceive many. But the Holy Bible tells us that Jesus is much more than a great prophet. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is One of the Holy Trinity, something that Islam scoffs at. He is fully God and fully man. Another truth that Islam rejects. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. Period. Secular humanistic tolerance is the most intolerant worldview to emerge. Don’t fall for it! I’m an advocate for peace and unity but where I cannot cross the line is in my belief in Jesus. In Him lies the solutions to everything. Lose that and you lose it all, both in this life and the next. Are you prepared to toy with that? The miracle Baby that was born in a manger 2000 years ago is more than enough for me. Christians watch and pray.

When the Anti Christ comes on the scene, his ability to perform miraculous signs and wonders is one of the tools he will use to deceive many. A faith based on observable phenomena makes one easy prey since the enemy is master of lying wonders. Lack of depth makes one assume everything supernatural is from God, not realizing that there is a devil whose other name is deceiver. However, as the scriptures say, “we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth.” A very deep statement that means among others, every attempt to discredit truth, credits it.
Depth of understanding makes us realize that the enemy is severely limited in tactics and his playing field is not defined by him but by God. Therefore whatever tool he uses is already against him. We see this played out in the crucifixion of Christ. He was outwitted. He can be shown to be a deceiver every time, if we are grounded in the truth. Darkness flees when light shines on it. Deception cannot withstand truth.
The scriptures were written for these times when deception will multiply. It is the enemy’s last days too, so there is desperation. Imagine if the truth was not written – still not all will fall away since we have the Holy Spirit to teach us, but many more will fall. All of these, as you pointed out has been written so that no one who falls away has an excuse. As the scriptures say, “It is written…”

Thanks Tolu! It’s absolutely amazing how scriptural prophecies are unfolding right before our very eyes. What’s even more amazing is how poorly we’re responding to these occurrences as the Body of Christ. A lot of Christians are running around like sheep without a Shepherd and this should not be so. I was talking to someone about this earlier today and what came to mind was when you have seen a movie already and are watching with first timers. During scenes that evoke extreme emotions like shock, you’ll probably just smile quietly, having ‘seen’ what to expect previously. We have the incorruptible word of God that tells us how the end times will pan out. We know we are on the winning team. Why on earth are we still so flustered about these things? It beats me bro. Wow. I don’t even know what to say. Thank you for sharing this story. You have a very unique gift in the way you share current events that are about religion or affect Christianity. I am shocked, but at the same time, I am not…It is as you said…many false prophets will come (and are here). Many signs will be performed and many will be deceived. Oh, how my heart breaks at this! Lord, bring your light!! Expose these lies for what they really are!! I also have to tell you that the Lord has been pressing on my heart to “watch and pray” for about the past 2 weeks. We’re entering very spiritually dynamic times and I believe the Spirit is actively searching for people who will be committed to watching God closely and doing whatever He wants us to do in these times. Hi Watchman, very True what you shared, deception is the face of Satan the father of lies, slight of hand, tricky and illusion, all of the flesh but when the beast arises from a fatal wound as Tolu said and the Anti Christ comes on the scene, his ability to perform miraculous signs and wonders is one of the tools he will use to deceive many….. But not the Redeemed Children of God.
But we must not reject all signs and wonders, God does work Miracles and signs and wonders today, I and many others can testify to this and the Scriptures confirm them..God does not change He is the same yesterday today and tomorrow and we know we as part of Christs Body the Church will receive gifts of The Spirit. I find people who reject them all have never know them as a reality in their life and so put God in a box of their own understanding but we do need to test the spirit.
The Godhead or The Trinity as They are called today are very clearly shown from Geneses to Revelation, a sign of a Cult or false Religion is rejection of this reality, they do not believe God’s inspired written word or The Living Word Jesus Christ…

We need to be very carful, who we allow to influence us, when I was running a Christian weight control program, I did not realise at first that I had two non believers attending because one referred to Jesus but later I found out she rejected Him as Christ she believed that a man in India called Jesus was the real Jesus resurrected, the other referred to Christ but rejected Jesus, she belonged to a New Age Spiritualist Church, finally I did realise they were not talking about our Jesus Christ and so I tried to witness to them but they became abusive when I showed them confirmation from the Scriptures that they were in error.

I certainly am an advocate for signs and wonders empowered by the Spirit of God. Christians must remember to always test the spirits because the enemy also has powers of his own.
I found your encounter with the two unbelievers who attended your weight management programme. Unfortunately, such level of deception is on the rise with people like Oprah promoting new age spirituality. Nothing deceives more effectively than something that resembles the truth. It’s real sad but we just have to press on with the Great Commission.

Yes watchman Satan is very clever he`ll do anything he can to take peoples attention away from God, even this baby. He has already been defeated at the cross, we remind him of his fate so he seeks to stop us with deception as you said.
We enjoyed our holiday but are still sad with the loss of Missy one of our dogs but we remember her with thankfulness. I will be going away in just over a week for a Golf trip, Anne will continue to share, she trusts the Lord in her responses as you seem to be aware, her knowledge of the Bible is as she is lead by Him our Teacher, she has had no formal training, I seek her counsel often, as she does mine, thanks for your encouragement, it is much appreciated.

Hi Ron. I’m sorry for the late reply. It’s been a very difficult time for many here in Nigeria as there was a terrible plane crash on Sunday. Over a hundred innocent lives were lost. One of my very close friend’s brother was on that flight so as you can imagine, our attention is consumed with what happened. I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday. Hi Ron. Thanks for asking. The reports say that there were no survivors. All 153 people on board are said to have passed on. However, as the aircraft plunged into a building, some have expressed their doubts about the possibility of all the bodies being recovered at this stage. Some may still be buried under the rubble although the chances are very slim. We continue to pray for my friend and his brother as he is yet to be found or identified. Thanks again Ron
Hi Watchman, Ron and I feel very much for you and your friend and his family but like you we have not given up Hope, yet sometimes it comes in a differant way then we expect.
