We often hear that the battle ground is in the mind. The mind is in the brain and the brain is in the skull. It’s as though God had a picture of this battle when He orchestrated Jesus’ crucifixion to take place at Golgotha, which when translated means the place of the skull. It was right there that the ultimate battle took place. The stronghold of evil thoughts that once held us captive and destined for death were crushed by the precious death of Jesus on the cross. Once and for all, He paid the price for our freedom and dismantled the powers and principalities of darkness that enjoy running amok in the minds of men.
No longer do we need to struggle with the torment of sinful thoughts. No longer do we need to allow the old nature set its mind on sinning against God and reaping death in the process. Our minds are the spiritual Golgotha in which we can appropriate the benefits of Christ’s death and also experience the reality of His victory over spiritual darkness. We can fix our minds on the things of the Spirit and fulfil the commandment to love the Lord with all our mind.
Right thinking will lead to right actions. Right actions will birth right habits which when practised consistently will lead to right living. The place of the skull is no longer a place of death. No! Your mind is now a place of resurrection life. It’s renewal will transform your life. Jesus has already paid the price. Go on and appropriate your victory. Get your mind right!
