Prayer Works
Whilst I’m very much an advocate for ‘praying as the Spirit leads’, it can sometimes be a cop out for hiding behing lazy and ineffectual prayer. This prayer chart by Dick Eastman has the potential to revolutionise your prayer time if you would embrace it and allow the Spirit of God breathe on it. It breaks down prayer into 12 different components based entirely on scripture. Since I started using this chart as a rough guide, praying has become a lot more enjoyable and effective. It is not the length of time that matters but rather, the quality of our prayers. The chart helped me realise how much more material I had with which to communicate with God than I previously thought. Care must be taken not to turn this into a rigid legalistic formula. You can modify it to suit your needs or chop and change as you wish. This is by no means an exhaustive chart but it helps provide a platform for intelligent prayer and intercession. In the end, all prayer must be breathe on by the Spirit for it to be effective. Hope it blesses you.
